The 223 Rem, 53gr Varmageddon ammo (65139) is one of the polymer-tipped versions. As tests have shown, it leaves the muzzle of a 24-inch barrel rifle with a quite impressive velocity of 3350 ft./s and energy of 1330 ft. lbs.; while, at a distance of 100 yards, Nosler Varmageddon 223 projectiles boast a velocity of 3024 ft./s and 1076 foot-pounds of energy.
Manufactured through a highly efficient process which ensures that the legendary Nosler quality and accuracy is provided at an economical price, Varmageddon tipped bullets feature a flat base and streamlined polymer tip, as well as a lead-alloy core and copper-alloy jacket designed to withstand high velocities yet expand immediately upon impact.

The flat base design of a Nosler Varmageddon bullet delivers bench-rest accuracy. On the other hand, the ultra-thin jacket mouth – within which the metallic black polymer tip is nestled – ensures full expansion at either end of the velocity scale, and even out to the tested 600 yards; the bullet’s special lead-alloy core combines with the copper-alloy jacket to violently expand upon impact.
Another notable component of this polymer tip ammo from Nosler is the premium brass case. This reloadable brass comes with its neck sized, chamfered and trued, and this contributes to the tack-driving, round-after-round accuracy which the most avid high-volume varmint hunter will appreciate.
