Leatherman Charge Plus TTi Additional Information
Plain Blade Material
This multi tool with knife actually comes with two knife blades: One plain, one serrated. The knife with a plain edge is forged from CPM® S30V® stainless steel which was designed to offer the best combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance.
Its wear resistance capabilities are especially exceptional because the chemistry of this Leatherman multitool blade steel has been specially balanced to enhance the formation of vanadium carbides which are more effective than chromium carbides when it comes to resisting wear.
Serrated Blade Material
Excellent at cutting or sawing through tough and crusty surfaces due to the serrations on its cutting edge, the second blade equipped on what many regard as the best multi tool is made from 420HC stainless steel.
While this steel material is not as wear resistant and edge-retaining as the S30V, it does not easily succumb to rust or stains, and its properties are stable as well as predictable. That is why it is used in the construction of many popular and similar tools, such as the Center Drive multi-tool from Gerber.
Handle Material
Titanium, the material used to construct the Leatherman Charge Plus TTi handle, is among the strongest materials on earth – even equal in strength to the highest quality grades of steel despite having a low density.
Thanks to these, and other quality materials used in its construction, the tool will withstand years of heavy use and remain intact.
Warranty
To give you an idea of just how confident the manufacturer is in their product, and how proud they are to stand behind it, this Leatherman Multitool, manufactured in Portland, Oregon, comes with a 25-year warranty.
Best Multi Tool Reviews
Here are some reviews of the Charge multi tool with knife to give you an idea of what those who have bought and used it think of it:

“I purchased both the Surge and the Charge plus TTI. I love both of them and they are both excellent tools. However, my intent was to use it as an EDC and to carry in my airplane and with me on my adventure motorcycle trips. I am not a full time tradesman so the weight and size of the Surge was to much for that mission. The Surge weighs 30% more and that is a lot if you don’t need that capability. In the end, I will keep both but will carry the Charge for my EDC. The only thing I have changed is I used the larger sheath on the surge and added a better bit kit. Highly recommended.”

“This tool is solid with very use able items. A bit high priced, but worth it to me. A little stiff when new, but work it numerous times and it loosens a bit. Blade, saw, scissors are very sharp, though I wouldn’t use the scissors for any big job, but for loose threads it’s great. Well made sheath. You may not need the plus model, but I’m not sorry I got it.”

“This is an amazing tool. Great quality and plenty of options.
Love the changeable bits. Also not in description but this model does come with the removable belt clip and lanyard ring.”
