PMAG AICS Magazines Description
A larger-capacity variant of Magpul’s standard and proven PMAG 7.62 5-rounder, the PMAG 10 7.62 AC provides additional firepower in an affordable and durable package, and is a reliable choice for any Winchester enthusiast.
This AICS magazine is built with GEN M3® technology, which means that it is advanced in material as well as manufacturing processes. PMAG AICS mags are, in fact, some of the most advanced, dependable bolt action magazines on the market.
Bear in mind that AICS is short for “Accuracy International Chassis Systems.”
In order to outperform the competition, this product boasts a next-generation polymer housing/body that is impact and crush-resistant; and, for easy visual identification of magazines with different loadouts, paint-pen dot matrix panels are imprinted into the Magpul AICS magazinebody, near the base.
More features of the PMAG 10 7.62 AC bolt action magazine include an injection-molded, anti-tilt follower which is self-lubricating for increased reliability on and off the shooting range; a stainless steel spring that comes fit for a long service life; as well as a floorplate which is flared to aid magazine handling and for ease of retrieval. This floorplate is detachable, making it easy to disassemble the AICS magazine for cleaning or maintenance.
In terms of compatibility, PMAG AICS mags accept a cartridge overall length of up to 2.86 inches, and are designed for compatibility with short action AICS pattern bottom metal and cartridges built on a 0.470″ case head such as 7.62×51/.308 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington, 6.5mm Creedmoor, .260 Remington, .243 Winchester, and others.
Proudly made in the USA, this ultra-reliable and lightweight Magpul AICS magazine sets a new standard for bolt action magazines, and is the ultimate in practical, tactical, and cost-effective feeding for your precision rifle. The higher capacity of this 10-round variant reduces reloads and keeps you on target longer.

PMAG AICS Magazine Additional Information
Non-Compatibility
Bear in mind that this AICS magazine Magpul offers is not compatible with smaller base diameter cartridges such as .220 Swift, .223 Remington, .300 AAC Blackout, etc., or larger short action magnums.
In addition, due to the wide variety and potential combinations of aftermarket receivers, stocks, chassis, and bottom metal that accept AICS pattern mags, minor fitting may be required.
PMAG AICS mags are also not compatible with Accuracy International AE rifles or semi-auto platforms which make use of SR25/M110 pattern magazines
Other Compatibility-Related Specs
The PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazine is optimized for the .308 Winchester based family of cartridges and is compatible with short action AICS-spec bottom metal, including the Bolt Action Magazine Well for the Hunter 700 Stock, and in most platforms performs exceptionally well in similar, but non-.308 based cartridges, such as 6.5 Creedmoor.
While the Ruger American Rifle® and other rifle platforms can be upgraded for use with AICS-spec bottom metal and magazines like the 10-round AICS magazine in focus, the internal design features may present some feeding and reliability concerns when used with the standard PMAG 7.62 AC mag in non-.308 based calibers.
Consequently, Magpul does not recommend the PMAG 10 7.62 AC for calibers other than .308-based cartridges in the Ruger American Rifle® in the Hunter American stock, and results may vary in other actions with 3-lug bolts. For optimal feeding and reliability with the Hunter American in cartridges like 6.5 Creedmoor, the recommendation is to utilize only the updated Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC, easily identified with its brown lock plate and follower for complete Magpul reliability.
Magazine Follower
AICS mags make use of an anti-tilt follower identifiable by the longer “legs” it features. Due to the fact that this follower does not tilt, magazine-related failures such as jams and mis-feeds are prevented.

“I’m using these mags as back-ups for my Bergara B-14 HMR. The rifle is chambered for 6.5 creedmoor. Even though this magazine is slated for 7.62X51mm NATO, they work well with 6.5 Creedmoor. They are well-built; high quality and very solid. They feed well. No complaints. Solid product.”
